Our new bass player Craig came with the lyrics for what were adapted into The Reversion on his first day of officially being welcomed into the band. Immediately after reading his "Subjects Of the Machine" we knew that we had something pretty awesome with this concept but needed to fit them into the perfect musical architecture. As The Reversion developed and evolved, we knew this was the correct landscape to sculpt around the original material.
Secrets Of the Machine is central to the overriding concept of the entire Critical Sound Theory.
The Reversion Lyrics
We polluted our minds
Sheer madness it seems
Look around and you’ll find
Oh, a well oiled machine
They have you in sight
Algorithmic routine
It’s planned and its plotted babe
Oh, a well oiled machine
As you cower in fear
And try to hide in between
All the dangers are clear
Oh, a well oiled machine
As we can’t all agree
Which freedoms to seek
These tired cold eyes will see you
Oh, a well oiled machine

Subjects of The Machine
Subjects of the machine,
Blind dupes led by the politics of fear,
In this land of hypocrisy so insincere,
Indifferent to the bloody world scene -
Subjects of the machine,
You know that I am right -
The powerful oppress us with all their might -
For we are a fascistic, corporate fiend -
Subjects of the machine,
To you I waved my false flag,
But to you subjects, that was such a drag;
Blissful, ignorant, and innocent children, so pristine -
Subjects of the machine
There are more colors than white or black!
Are you afraid of when darkness might attack?
Have you seen it all unfold in the TV scene -
Subjects of the machine
By the oppressors have you felt,
The mad world of the past we’ve been dealt?
By a dollar-eyed dragon with scales of green –
O’ subjects of the machine,
Why do we hate each other?
How cruel you are – o’ sisters and brothers!
Reality might not be quite what it seems -
Subjects of the machine,
O’ subject, what are you going to do?
When you question everything you thought you knew?
Step outside of the daydream of the mainstream -
Subjects of the machine,
We are battered day by day;
How is that we’ve lost our way?
Existing in an inverted world, morally obscene -
Subjects of the machine,
Tell me is it black or white?
And is it to the left, or is it to the right?
Never mind, fate predates this epoch of Constantine –
Subjects of the machine
Not this world of fear, but one of love –
Not from the heavens – but be peaceful – like the dove
But eternal subjugation is foreseen –
Subjects of the machine,
Who are we on this path of time?
With ignorance we have been entwined;
Subjects singing to this day, God Save the Queen -
Subjects of the machine
Tell me who it is that rules the mind
And if you answer correctly the riddle will unwind -
Let the truth be known and we will be redeemed -
Subjects of the machine
My reader, I now hereby stand,
One last loving glance do I command,
Hail to the spirits of the eternal dream!
